Temporary architecture is not a smaller version of permanent architecture.
It follows a different logic: arrival, assembly, transformation, movement and reuse.
Aeriform is an experimental spatial design studio based in Madrid, working across Europe. We design temporary pavilions, immersive installations and lightweight architectural environments for culture, music, fashion and public events.
The studio was founded on a simple observation: the most intense spatial experiences of most people's lives happen in buildings that no longer exist — festivals, exhibitions, ceremonies, gatherings. We treat that condition as a discipline, not a compromise.
Every project is developed as a system: geometry, membrane, structure, logistics and afterlife are designed together from the first sketch.
Freestanding architectural environments for festivals, biennales and public programmes — designed for repeated assembly and small transport volumes.
Interiors where light, sound and geometry are composed together: projection rooms, acoustic walks and atmospheric chambers.
Spatial systems for launches, exhibitions and cultural commissions, built to carry an identity without becoming a billboard.
Early-stage studies covering structure, wind, anchoring, permits and logistics, with our regular engineering partners.
We maintain a physical library of coated and uncoated textiles, tested for translucency, acoustic behaviour and weld strength. Material strategy depends on project requirements.
Air-supported envelopes, tensioned frames and glue-laminated ribs — chosen by span, wind exposure and how the structure must travel.
Components are detailed so they can be repaired or reconfigured. Transport volume is considered during development, not after design freeze.
